👀 right!?
I saw top gun maverick opening weekend. I think fighter pilots are very cool.
So this system can't play your already converted collection of movies? I spent years collecting my blu-ray movie collection, converting them to digital copies so I could play them through Plex from my Synology NAS, and now I gotta toss it all away to purchase an expensive kaleidescape system and pay for and download a huge collection of movies????
I agree with everything you're saying and am in the same boat in regard to having collected movies for quite some time now. However, they're not targeting you or me.
My favourite summer movies were Oppenheimer, Nope, Once upon a time in hollywood and Mission impossible 6
Great to see you back and the background to the summer blockbuster was interesting. I remember my parents telling me of when they went to see the 1977 Star Wars movie and the insane lineups at the theatre. I saw Return of the Jedi multiple times in the summer of 1983. I generally regard 1982 as the best year of all time for movies with several great releases that year.
Thanks for noticing. I got a ton going on in my life, but I've been wanting to put a video out for a while now. I'm jealous you got to experience Return of the Jedi in theaters. The 80s were so rad.
I currently have a Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar with the optional SWA-9200S rear speakers. Price versus a traditional AVR setup was one consideration for sure, but I also wanted something with minimal wiring and an overall smaller footprint. The sound I get from this system is way, way better than TV speakers and I'm quite happy with the experience.
Absolutely! Anything is better than the built in stuff.
2007 will always and will be the best year of summer hits. Not just movies but video games too.
Anything in particular?
@@MovieUniversity Transformers (2007) Halo 3 (2007) The Simpsons Movie (2007) Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (2007)
Thank you Jaws
I remember seeing Oppenheimer opening weekend last year during the summer season and it was quite the surprise seeing the Imax auditorium at my local movie theater nearly full for a 10:40am showing since theirs not usually that many people going to see a movie that early in the day
Oh wow, that is impressive.
Jaws. Greatest movie of all time.
Another great topic for discussion. Thank you my friend.
I think that movie theatres will continue to pivot to an elite upscale environment that will be nice to go to on occasion, but will still become very expensive. There will be more and more streaming services with more and more content. The content will be generally high-quality: what we'd consider good for television and most low budget films now. Streaming services will compete with traditional production companies/studios to produce their own streaming-only blockbuster content, while standard theatrical releases will end up on streaming much faster, but I don't think simultaneously. Another thing we may see is, since more and more streamers are emerging, is streaming packages of different streamers coming together so that people can finally save money on these things. It would basically be Cable 2.0. You pick the package you want that comes with the streamers you want for a reduced price.
I hate that tv companies do this. Im considering LG because of this but for some reason LG doesnt offer the ESPN app so i cant watch UFC fights. Which one has it all? Sony?
Honestly, I've never even thought to look into the apps. I've always used my Apple TV device.
It's like buying a $20k car seat... for a car that's worth $20k... It's way too expensive... you have to spend that much money up-front and then pay to build your library.... why not use that upfront cost and buy 100s of 4K discs and have a dream collection without spendinganymore money... and tomorrow, when this Kaliedscape service no longer exists, you are left with nothing. All your investment is useless.
I have a Samsung , Vizio and Hisense TV's in my home. I wanted Dolby Vision so thats when Vizio came to my home. Then Hisense.
40 hz is best
Fully digital overall==>YES
What happened to Block Buster. The CEO was a fucking ideot. That is what happened to Block Buster. As of 2023 There is one left in Bend Oregon in name only and it is on my Bucket List. I don't know how the hell I am ever gonna get to Oregon from Florida but it is on the Bucket list.
I didn't know this needed explaining...
I’ll Say Dolby Cinema 💯
I guess one solution is extract the audio from a movie normalize it and put it back on the movie. sometimes that dinamic range on the tv doesnt work on all movies
Pre-production, "Green light hell" development can even take 12 years as one of Ron Howard directed film was. Mostly, it might be five years and the studio could loose interest at any time.
The server has nothing to do but read and write…so let’s charge 10k for 8TB!
Netflix volume is good on all movies just Tube and You Tube You are bad
Rian Johnson shot the First Knives Out Digital Film Grain wish more Filmmakers would adopt this technique.
where is the lobby???
No need for dolby vision. I have seen tvs with dolby vision and in hdr10+ and like hdr10+ better. In most cases turning off dolby vision helps the tvs specially the lower budget tvs.
I have a pretty decent audio system and I invested a good amount on extensive room treatments. I know not everybody has the flexibility of doing this, but acoustic treatment makes a huge difference in clarity. Movie dialogue is clear even at late night low levels.
DVD doesn't stand for "Digital Video Disc". it stands for "Digital Versatile Disc". I question this entire video now
You're only the 1000th person to point that out. I guess I'm not allowed to be human and make mistakes from time to time. I question your humanity now.
The real question I have is if say you set the cross over to 40 on your front left and right speakers. Do I then set the crossover on the actual sub to 40 too?
No. The sub frequency should be turned up to max. Let the receiver/ processor do the crossing over
For me the Dolby Atmos is the most important factor. So I would choose Dolby Cinema or Cinemark XD over Imax. I just saw Furiosa in Dolby Cinema and it was amazing. Going for my 2nd viewing on Cinemark XD.
Block Busters|Net Flix Hybrid Video Library Past Present Future
The klipsch flexus core 200 soundbar is pretty nice it can get loud and it has a sub out input which i like about it, my klipsch reference premiere subwoofer hooked up to it sounds nice. I like it
Glad you like it!
most of the comments here do not appreciate reference level, as how the producers intended it to be heard. ofcourse from tv speakers & cheap soundbars, this dynamic volume would sound crap..hence the availability to select night mode, enhanced vocal & dynamic range compressed/compression in the tv/soundbar volume option is made for selection. i for one, am a movie enthusiasts, audiophile & music lover, appreciate greatly the dynamic range in the volume. enjoyable, stunning & soothing all at the same time. takes you from being in your living/cinema room to the stage/movie..total immersion.
disney hotstar has the worst compressed volume, no dynamic at all. prime video is the best. regardless, if i were to watch bigblockbuster movies, i'd get a proper 4kuhd bluray.
set em all at 80 and call it a day
I have both. My main living room has a receiver and speaker set up (floor standing and in-wall/ceiling) and in a rec room I have a 3.1 soundbar set up. While a soundbar is significantly better than TV speakers (especially a soundbar with centre channel) there really is no comparison to a decent receiver and speaker set-up. Even an entry level set-up blows a soundbar away.
DIalogue is inaudible in the theatres as well. Stop making excuses. Movie sound was better in the 80's and 90's.
I don't like the OS Tizen, but my 95b is the best picture in the house. That's including my LG CX
Obvious
Oppenheimer proved the demand for the Traditional IMAX Format is sky high, because seeing a movie on a 60 foot screen over 80 feet wide just isn’t something you can easily get at home. It’s what makes IMAX’s product and brand so exclusive, and has been for decades. You know when you see an IMAX movie not because the resolution is higher or the sound is louder, but because you are literally seeing movies larger than you’ve ever seen them (not just by a few feet and moved closer to your face… I’m talking a behemoth screen scaling beyond your peripheral vision). The switch to Digital in 2008 has only diluted the product and only created more confusion for customers. IMAX seems to be listening. However, the distinction between the presentation of the format is still up in the air for me. I’ve always considered IMAX its own scope (1.43:1), not just “theater geometry” and I’m sure most agree there. Our local Cinemark has a purpose-built IMAX, yet they only present movies in Digital (not Laser). Does “Filmed for IMAX” always mean I can get to experience those movies at the IMAX scope, or just an expanded 1.9:1 scope? They need to get back to basics of their product.. what IS their product? It’s clear the public knows, but IMAX seems on the fence about addressing the good they still have left, with 15/70 projection and laser technology. They just need to get away from traditional marketing word salad and start being more transparent on the what they’re delivering.
imo the two best ARs are: 1.38 academy & 2.0 univisium
4dx
Capitalism in america did not do anything good for consumer quality. :D
Tech support! I shut the power to my house for electeical stuff. When i turn on my tv, i have the slund off and my sound bar turns on. Speakers set to optical out. Now when i turn on my tv, the tv speakers are on and i have tk manually switch it to optic outm. Its mega annoying!
Interesting ❤
The simple answer is that Movie "sound engineers" are either clueless or are forced to go against their own sound sensibilities by Jesuit freemasonic media agendas of subliminal mind control. I have remastered movie soundtracks in "Audacity" to a much more reasonable balanced sound overall in order to watch them without pissing about with volume control during the viewing. There is absolutely no excuse for the dreadful movie sound engineering of modern day movies, none whatsoever! The idea that they sound engineer for "movie theatres" is utter nonsense and even if that were the case then why do they not offer a "home sound remaster" option on the DVD's, do they think everyone lives in a cinema ? Nefarious reasons is why they sound engineer movies so badly!
Physical Media everytime
So what's better RPX or 4DX
How it works. Pay $9000. And then pay $30 for each movie that you truly dont own.
aspect ratio is width divided by height. When you are filming with anamorphic lenses with a 1.33 desqueeze factor, shot originally 3840x2160, the new resolution becomes 5107x2160. Now, with the resolution, if you calculate the aspect ratio, it is 2.36:1. So, is this the number you give the theatre or do I round it to 2.39:1 to the popular ratio?
